London Trip - MAC Store Review

MAC Pro
MAC Cosmetics was originally an American makeup brand created by Frank Angelo and Frank Toskan under the title of 'Makeup Art Cosmetics'. The brand was originally designed specifically for the use of professional makeup artists however due to its increasing popularity became readily available for the public consumer and professional alike. MAC Pro still stands as a subsection of the company that deals in products and discounts readily available for the professional artist, these include products such as Mix Products, eye shadow pans, palettes, specialised foundations (full coverage and fix fluid) as well as all the additional MAC products available to all. The store I visited was the MAC Pro brand in Covent Garden, London where downstairs a large variety of products specially tailored to a makeup artist were available.
I chose to visit MAC as I had never been into an independent Pro store, I had only been to the counters within centres such as Fenwicks or John Lewis. MAC is a well known global brand and because of this many people chose to use the stores products however I came prepared with a set list of products that I knew worked well from the company such as their paint pots for eyeshadow bases and Mix products. Personally I do not like all products available from MAC but there are a selection of products such as their pro foundations, lipsticks, eyeshadows and blushes that are a good quality product and therefore feature within my kit. However I do think charging £14 for a eye liner pencil is something a bit ridiculous and therefore certain items I just don't see worth splashing on a brand name.
Overall my visit to this store was pleasant as any other visit to MAC, it possessed the same neat, sophisticated layout, a great range of products all readily available to try and was like every MAC store jam packed with people. The range of products available at MAC is definitely a perk of the company however it is easy to become swamped with information as everyone will urge you to try a different product, however I think it is a company that you could keep personal to your own preferences as what may work for them may not work for you. Also because of the large quantity of products its easy to become greedy, my top tip for shopping there is research what you need, make a list and stick by it. By all means try other products but if you don't need them 100% don't buy them! Its to easy to by 10 different things that look pretty and have 6 of them just sitting in your kit without a purpose.

Favorite MAC Products:
- Paint Pots
- Full Coverage Foundation (can be thinned out to become F&B Fluid)
- Satin Lipsticks
- Eyeshadow Pans
- F&B Foundation
- Matte Blushes
