Practice - Male Foundation Application

When applying a foundation to male skin it is important to take extra care to moisturise the face and fully buff the product into the skin on the needed areas. Most of the time male skin won't require much makeup application however on screen and for photography work the skin may require a base makeup application to even the skin tone and improve the overall appearance of the face, neck and any other exposed areas. For a male face a matte primer is an essential product that should be used over the whole area of the face to reduce any shine on the skin, this often works better than a powder at mattifying the skin as powder can sit in the pores and facial hair creating a visible, white dusty appearance.
