Practise Face Charts

An important part of makeup design is the ability to create makeup looks on paper before they are translated onto a clients face. For this a makeup artist will create a Face chart which is essentially a design made up on watercolour paper of the makeup that they will use, this was something that is unique to each makeup artist as everyone had their own unique style of designing, preference of face shape and choice of media. Conventionally makeup is used to create the designs, however pencil, pen and paint may also be used to convey a look.
This face chart was a practise look that featured by own daily makeup look featuring a brown smokey eye and terracotta red lip. Only half the face was completed on this particular design as I wanted to maintain a demonstration of how simply the original linework is altered through makeup.
